Né dans le Sud-Est de l'Angleterre, il a étudié le design graphique pendant 4 ans à Hastings et au Salisbury Art Collège.
Paul, mieux connue dans l'industrie du design comme INSECT est la force créatrice derrière le collectif londonien de Londres, LES INSECTES qu'il avait créé il y a 10 ans avec son ancien partenaire LUKE. Depuis 2008, les deux artistes ont pris des routes différentes, et travaillent séparement.
Ainsi, le travail de Paul a considérablement évolué. Les graphismes à ambiance victorienne ont été remplacés par des collages Dada d'inspiration adolescente et scolaire. Ces motifs sont tempérées par une joyeuse utilisation de la couleur et un style ambitieux. De même, les images ont un gros rôle provocateur et oscille entre une gravité et une sensibilité qui tournent autour du sexe et de la mort. Son travail est en quelque sorte une fenêtre sur les frustration de l'homme moderne : bouillant de retenue agressive et sexuelle, mais qui tend à une forme de reconnaissance/acceptation morale.(artnet)

Paul, better known in the design industry as Insect is the creative force behind the London design collective, 'Insect', he created with his former partner LUKE. During 10 years, they've worked together as PAUL INSECT and Luke Insect. Now PAUL is working by his own.
Equally, Paul’s work has evolved considerably. Victorian graphics have been replaced by Dada-ist collages fusing adolescence, aggression, and rough-around-more-than-just-the-edges pornography. These motifs are tempered by a joyous use of colour and an ambitious style. Equally, the images are provoking and provocative: dripping as much with sensitivity and gravitas as they are with sex and death. Moreover, they are a window onto the mind of the frustrated modern male: boiling over with unkempt aggression and sexuality, but yearning somehow for a higher moral purpose than the gradual accumulation of acceptance. Clowns crack and go on the rampage; kids in cowboy outfits contemplate the worth of their peers; and babies are contented to consider the consequences of the quantum age.(artnet)
