LE COQ SPORTIF

Emile Camuset, founder of the French brand Le Coq Sportif, born in the late 19th century, is a passionate sports, including gymnastics, cycling and football.

The brand Le Coq Sportif was officially filed in 1948. In 1949, the son of Emile Camuset, Roland, joined the staff of the company. That year, the first Le Coq Sportif logo was removed: a rooster in front of the sun, all within a triangle. In 1960, during the Olympic Games in Rome, the entire French team was dressed by Le Coq Sportif and has won some important victories.

During the Tour de France in 1966, Le Coq Sportif is the exclusive producer of shirts. The difference compared with previous years lies in the fact that at that time, the Coq Sportif logo is sewn onto the jersey. It thus becomes visible to everyone and brand recognition will see significantly enhanced. During that same year, the entire team of French National Football is dressed by Le Coq Sportif during the world championships in Wembley, England. And French teams Athletics are also protected by the French brand.

In 1971, Ajax, the Amsterdam club football, won the European Cup in the clothes of Coq Sportif. Yannick Noah, the tennis legend, sponsored since 1974 by Le Coq Sportif, won great success with the brand. In 1983, Yannick won Roland Garros. Among other famous names of sponsored athletes include Michel Platini (football) and Bernard Hinault (cyclist). The Argentine soccer team has been twice world champion in 1978 and 1986, with Diego Maradona in the ranks, Italy has won its success in 1982.

Since 1998, Le Coq Sportif is back on all clothing fronts, both in sport and in the fashion industry. Its repositioning noticed him led to the signing of a few big names: MICHALAK, NOAH son ... Its new Parisian boutique got a strong playfull identity!
